        HOW TO BREW TROPICAL TEA

Black Tea: Heat water to near a full boil, 206 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit, but not a full boil.  Continuous boiling will rob the water of needed oxygen and make the tea taste flat.  We generally recomend steeping our tropcial teas for 2 to 5 minutes, the amount of time depends on your preference.  Some who like a bold cup of tea will use two tea bags in their cup.

Green Tea:  Brewing green tea is a more delicate process.  Green teas are much less processed than black teas and more sensitive to temperature and steep time.  Green teas must be steeped at a low temperature, 160 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent bitterness.  Steep time is also short, 1 to 2 minutes, depending on our preference.  Green teas can be re-infused with water and steeped again several times.

Herbal Tea:  The rooibos herb that we use in our 100% caffeine free Coconut Macadamia Herbal Tea is not particulaly sensitive to temperature or steep time.  We recommend near boiling hot water and a steep time from 5 to 15 minutes.

Preparation: Preheat your cup if it is ceramic. This can be accomplished while the water is heating.  Do the same for a teapot to let it warm, then drain completely before adding tea.

Technique: Place the tea bag into the cup and pour the heated water over the tea bag. Allow the tea bag to steep for 2-3 minutes, according to your taste preference; .Less time will bring out more flavor and a lighter tea liquor. A longer steep will make a stronger cup with less pronounced flavor characteristics.  Remove and discard tea bag. As the temperature cools the flavor becomes more pronounced. Cool the brewed tea and served chilled or with ice.  A sweetner will also enhance the flavor.   Enjoy!
